On February 4, 2012 we enter into a new solar Chinese New Year. The last time we had a Water Dragon Year was back in 1952.  We can also look back 120 years ago to a Yang Water Dragon Year. The year of the Water Dragon will be a transformational year.

When we look at the chart we can see that 3 out of the 4 pillars are clashing and only one pillar is productive. In the month pillar, where water feeds wood and this brings growth luck.  Yang water and yang earth clash in the year pillar, suggesting again, earth related disasters.  So look out for mudslides as earth tries to dam up the water.  Look for problems related to the kidneys, so drink plenty of water.

The element of Fire is missing from the chart this year, and as some of us have already seen in our local area how fast and furious fire can become.  So we need to add the fire element to our lives.  Carry your money in a red wallet this year, wear red nail polish, red underwear or scarves.  You can also add the fire element by lighting candles, incenses or a fire in your fireplace or wood stove.  Keep your house well lit this year and pay and little more in your electric bills.  The missing fire element in this year’s chart suggests a lack of intelligence and creativity.

Looking at this year’s chart we have the dragon, phoenix (rooster) and the tiger, what is missing from the Four Celestial Guardians is the turtle and it would be a good idea to have a figurine of a turtle or have live turtles in your home.  The turtle can be placed in the north or south part of your room or home.

In the hour pillar we again see a clash as last year with metal and wood, again suggesting assassinations to older people.

The first half of spring and summer bring good times and the energy declines beginning in the fall and winter.  So look to have a better beginning to this year into summer.   Some Feng Shui experts say that we will have a double spring, so look for the stock market to rise up through the summer & sell off during the fall and winter.

First let’s take a look at the inauspicious stars and which area they fall into;

#5 Yellow: is positioned in the southeast this year.  The #5 Yellow brings tragedy, arguments, and disputes, loss of wealth and legal problems.

The best cure for this area is the Salt Water Cure along with six I-Ching coins ties on a red ribbon.

Do not disturb this section of your house or home with any noisy activities, renovations or maintenance work.  Avoid disturbing the ground with major digging or building work in 2012.

Stillness along with round metal cures can keep these negative influences a bay.  If you bed is facing southwest place a  metal Wu Lou beside your bed or hang one on the bedpost.

Avoid the fire energy in this area, so keep lights low, do not burn candles or use the color red.  Avoid playing music in the southwest of the home or room.  If you have a main door in the southeast make sure and oil the hinges and clean the kick plate.

Tai Sui (The Grand Duck of Jupiter) also resides in the southeast 112.5˚ to 127.5˚.  So we have two stars that combine and bring us destructive energy.

#1 Water Star:  is positioned in the south along with the 3 killings star 142.5˚ to 217.5˚.  Again, please to not disturb this area inside or out.  No digging, renovations or maintenance work or noisy equipment in the south part of your home or yard.

Another thing to remember is to never sit with your back to the 3 killings, it is better to face (south) this direction.

If your front door faces south, place a pair of Fu Dogs at your front door as protective guardians.  www.fengshuishopper.com has Fu Dogs that you can place on your door knob if your front door cannot accommodate two Fu Dogs on each side of your front door.

The #1 star is a water element.  In the physical body it is the ear, kidney’s and the blood.  So we have a water star in the south which represents fire, again considered a destructive combination with water controlling fire.

Cures are needed to protect and enhance finances and help protect health.  Good colors to use in the south this year are blues, blacks and grays. These colors can be introduced with bedspreads, lamp shades, throws and pillows.   Round metal objects are also good to place in this area.  You can add some succulent leafy plants here as well.

If you have your bed located in this area you can use a brass Wu-Lou beside your bed.

Avoid the color red, pink, purple or orange and also avoid candles and sharp objects.

#2 Black Illness Star:  visits the North in 2012

The north is not a great area this year as the #2 earth star tries to dam up the water in the north which can bring illness to the kidneys, stomach or reproductive system in 2012.  If your bed is located in the area use a brass Wu-Lou on your bedside or hang one on your bedpost.

Try to keep the north part of your home or office as quite as possible.

Use a salt water cure and six I- Ching coins tied on a red ribbon.  A metal singing bowl or any round metal object will help dissipate any negative influence in this area of your house.  A traditional cure would be to place a single elephant with its trunk raised, a metal elephant would be wonderful enhancer.  If you cannot avoid using this room, place a brass dragon in this area which symbolizes good health. A brass wealth ingot is good for protecting wealth.

Again do not use any of the fire elements in this area such as the color red, pink, purple and orange.  Do not light candles in the area.  Remove earth elements and earth colors from this room.

#3 Quarrelsome Star: flies to the southwest in 2012

This star brings litigation, quarrels and trouble with authority.  It can also cause problems with family relationship and could put a strain on your marriage.  This flying star combination is known as the “bull fight sha”.  Be aware of theft, arguments, and hot tempers especially if you have a main door in this area.

Keep this area quite and remove any water elements and the color blue. Do not do any renovations or digging in this part of your house or yard.  Remove or do not hang wind chimes in this area.  Take extra care with security and check smoke alarms.  Keep children out of this area.  Avoid the TV, computer, fans or any noise in this area.

You can place the four protective Buddha’s as a cure in the area, along with a double happiness symbol.

Use the fire element to cure, candles, and bright lights, red pointy objects the colors red, pink, and purple.  Remove any wind chimes. Keep this area quite.

#7 Robbery/Broken Army Star: visits the Northwest section this year

Sui Po year breaker occupies the direction directly opposite the Tai Sui Grand Duke, northwest (292.5-307.5).  No ground breaking, maintenance work, renovations or any loud noises. If activated it can cause violence, burglary and bloodshed.  If you have to carry out work in this area, place a six-rod metal wind chime between the house and the work taking place.  In the northwest we have yang metal meeting yin metal; too much metal is not good so we add the water element to reduce.  Update your security in this area if you have a door or window here. Keep windows and doors in the area closed and locked.

Another cure for this area is a blue rhinoceros and a blue elephant.  You can also place a gold Pi-Yao in the northwest facing towards the southeast.

Use the colors blue, gray and black in the area.

Do not use any fire element, the color red. Pink or purple and do not burn candles.

 And now the auspicious stars.

#4 Green Wisdom Star: flies to the East

This star governs romance and literacy as well as travel, career, artistic talents, wisdom, self development and intelligence.   The #4 star in the east creates a harmonious relationship that is excellent for academic studies.

This star can bring both wanted and unwanted romance opportunities to the home.

Do not use the fire or metal elements in this area or colors white, silver, gold.

Use blue and black colors in this area.  Keep this area free of clutter and clean.  This is a good area to use for study and couples with a bedroom in the east can enjoy good relationships.  In the office you can place a crystal globe on your work desk. Blue and green flowers in fresh water or potted green leafy plants can be placed here to lift the chi’.

#6 Heaven Star: The star of Heaven sits at the center palace in 2012

#6 Star is a compassionate money star and is good for wealth, career, politicians, leaders and anyone involved in the jewelry business. Offices and studies in the center will benefit greatly.  It also brings in wind fall luck.

If this #6 star in located in a bedroom in the center of your home it can cause problems with the throat and or legs and also breathing problems.  Use the colors blue, gray and black in the center to dissipate its energy.

A fish tank in the center with 3, 6, or 9 fish can bring more prosperity and luck to everyone in the household.  Use up-lights in the center of your home and keep them on 24/7.  Another way is to add crystal elements to bring in auspicious energy.

#8 Wealth Star: enters the west in 2012

The #8 Wealth Star brings in abundant wealth this year from the west.  Good enhancers for the west this year are quartz crystals, crystal balls or hanging faceted crystals.  Active this area with human activity, play some music or watch TV and keep the door and windows open.    Introduce the fire element to the west with red colors and candles.    Place an amethyst in the west part of your bedroom.

Keep this area bright and you can also add a water fountain as this wealth star is associated with water.

Do not place and heavy metal object in the west of your home or office.

#9 Purple: is found in the Northeast in 2012

The happiness star resides here, bringing wonderful opportunities and an excellent prospect for the future.  Growth, improvement, fame and acknowledgement are especially probable if you have a main door or office in this location.

Healthy green leafy plants or blue flowering plants such as violets are good for this area.  Fresh flowers can also lift the chi’ in this area.  You can also hang six I-Ching coins on a red ribbon to balance the energy here.

Add light to the northeast sector of your home or office to help you think more clearly and to improve educational prospects.
